Creating a Business in Retirement - My Story

Most people at one time or another have had the inspiration and the dream of starting their own business and once you become a father the dream of business ownership is more acute than ever. It is a "main thing" to want to keep your family protected from the elements they have no control over them, because you are an employee, not an owner. And, of course, the idea of leaving a legacy, giving their children a good start in life, is always in your mind.

I'm no different than most Americans, because I had this dream of owning a business for most of my life. However, unlike most Americans who tried to do something about it, I started my own business. Well, just started my own business.

Being the parent of two children with a housewife, could not be reckless in my company, so I sort of stuck my fingers in the water of capitalism. He had welding experience and owner of an arc welder and gas torches, so I opened a welding repair shop in a shed in the backyard. I had visions of starting small and gradually build the business in a large manufacturing company. To avoid the gory details, I was relieved when the city forced me to close because of zoning laws.

That little fiasco crushed my dream of owning a business for years, but not to be deterred, as I approached retirement age to think about the need for an extra income of a company that I pay at retirement. Being much older and wiser, he took a different approach to starting a business.

Walked franchise websites until I was blue in the face, but everything seemed attractive requires an incredible franchise fee upfront. I hated to see a window washing franchise requires a franchise fee of $ 75,000.

I decided on a business candy vending machines. The whole business was $ 20,000 for 60 machines and inventory, in addition to placing the machines in high profit for your business. I thought that if the unthinkable should happen and my health plummeted could still put candy in the machines and the grid of huge profits. Again, the gory details omitted, I'm not sure that the machines are today.

Being retired has presented challenges for which it was prepared to find, but adjusted accordingly to lower my standard of living. I still had the desire to start a business and I really needed additional income, but had no idea where to start.

I knew that the Internet is the best way to make income without much capital and no hard manual labor, I had to admit that I was no longer able to perform. The problem was that I was more or less computer illiterate. I was not a total dummy, which could surf the net and what not, but I had no idea how to program or any HTML.

I tried creating a blog of glasses, a business Facebook page, I bought two companies in the Internet outside of eBay (not to), and finally attended a college class on creating web pages. As usual, I was more frustrated than when I started and absolutely no closer to having an Internet business.

Being a dreamer who was constantly buying programs that promise wealth or how to start a business or whatever, and one day I was browsing through the programs of my computer when I realized I had bought SiteSell.com, but not had no idea what it was. I opened the program and began to read the information.
