One thing that always bothered me as coordinator of a group of experts working online is how quickly people want to proclaim how smart and clever they are, citing his views on all issues of our time today. What bothers me is that there is a lot of original thought there, and it is very easy to adopt the viewpoint of the so-called intellectual elite academics. I would submit to you that this is a problem, and also promotes groupthink and bad policy.
In particular I would like to talk about the challenges that mankind has on the planet with socialism. In addition, this thinking permeates anti-capitalist societies and civilizations around the world. Not long ago, I dug up an old magazine article in Foreign Policy (May-June 2008 edition), the article is entitled "The Top 100 public intellectuals - just what it means to be an intellectual leader - one of our ways and awards birds and the pleasures of living by ideas "by Christopher Hitchens.
As I read through the hundreds of names, I knew a few. Most of which I immediately dismiss their views as those of utopian socialists.
Now, I ask you this, as any socialist country, has been successful in the history of mankind for a long period of time, why did these intellectuals who came to make us believe that a country governed socialist nation, society or civilization actually best for all concerned. It is not, even if it were, have to deal with human beings, such as running things. The problem perhaps is not the socialist theory, it does not work in practice due to the innate characteristics of men do not allow humans to operate in a world.
In reading this article, was also dismayed how many intellectuals were from academia, politics, or who were writers or journalists. Usually such people have never run a business, and therefore do not really understand capitalism, or its inherent value. Now there were some people on the list were economists, but I also know of his writings, and I must say I am not impressed with them. You see, we should stop rewarding the utopian socialists, the label of intellectual ability, or genius level thinking.
These people are not as smart as they would have to believe, and those who follow them and hang on every word of it, are just brainwashed into thinking that socialism will solve the problems of humanity, Socialism can not do that, and therefore will not. In fact I hope to please consider all this and think about it.
